What is an Energy Audit?

An energy audit examines all of the aspects of energy use, an audit can be made on an individual building or process or an entire organisation. Ideally an audit should cover a time period which encompasses all of the factors which impact on energy comsumption.

You can carry out your own audit by analysing your energy bills.

The information gathered during the audit is used to establish where and how much energy is being used. Measures to reduce energy consumption can then be put in place and the effectiveness of these measures can be assessed.

A technique called monitoring and targetting can be employed to keep track of energy consumption.
